“望” Hope。
サンフランシスコの日系アメリカ人には、第二次世界大戦中は強制収容という過去を持ち、戦後苦境の中、日本町を再建し、深く重くそして頼もしい歴史と共にあります。
既に3世、4世、5世の時代ですが、彼らの日本を愛する気持ちは、今の私以上かもしれない。
.この屏風も、特別室に保管下さり、今後も貴重なものとして扱って下さるとの想いに、心から感謝致します。

I am very honored to work on to drew this Byobu ( traditional folding screen) project with my calligraphy in JCCCNC in SF the other day .
I drew the word “Nozomi” that means “ Hope”, and I expressed the the Japanese American’s great heritage and hope
from the past to the future. I appreciate their deep thoughts as one of Japanese.
